If you are planning a wedding for Fall 2014, we are excited to showcase the trends for next year. Hot on the runway were unexpected pinks, shorter hemlines, feathers, lace, and floral accents!
We are big fans of wedding gowns in shades of color other than the traditional white. Don't get me wrong, we love gorgeous white and ivory gowns. But, the bride who dares to dress offbeat turns our heads. For my own wedding, I chose a mint green dress. We've seen soft lavender, pastel yellow, sweet baby blue, and bright red dresses that have made us swoon. Fall 2014 brings us Pink! And what girl doesn't love pink? We loved that designers were inspired by all different shades of pink making for a colorful and unexpected splash of color on the runway.
Vera Wang, with her iconic gowns, always amazes the bridal world and so we love the two gowns by Vera featured below. The first is a rose strapless silk sweetheart mermaid gown with hand draped tulle detail accented by circle cluster lace and floral beaded embroidery.
On the second, we can't get enough of the back on this peony strapless faille sweetheart mermaid gown with double bow back detail and floral beaded embroidery. It wasn't just Vera using pink so if this is your color, be sure to check out other designers too because we are sure you will find pink in their color palette as well.
Looking for a dress to show off those amazing bridal shoes and those slender gams you worked so hard on while getting ready for the big day? Then you will love the shorter hemline trend. From Carolina Herrera to Marchesa, we loved the different lengths designers introduced. Tea length, minis, and in between, there's a look for any gal.
Bolero jackets are such a beautiful way to transform the look of a dress. From oversized cape jackets to delicate lace tops, these tops are a must-have for a fashionable Fall look and not to mention a smart couture way to keep warm when the temperature chills.
Feathers are an obsession here at When Pigs Fly Events. For my bouquet at my wedding I favored an incredible royal blue ostrich feather arrangement rather than the traditional florals! So, naturally we were thrilled to see that luxe feathered finishes were added to bodices, trains, and slip skirts. There's not a better way to add excitement and fun to your look while still remaining glamorous.
Rosette finishes and floral details added a feminine touch to the gowns. From large statement pieces to small delicate and intricate detailing, we welcome the idea of incorporating this texture into the dress.
And last but not least, designers channeled royalty with lace sleeves - either three quarters or full length. We can thank Grace Kelly and Kate Middleton for bringing the beauty of modesty back to popularity.
If you are looking for a stunning bridal shower dress, are getting married asap and in need of a Fall dress that combines some of the Fall 2014 trends (on a budget!), or just want a killer white holiday dress, we LOVE this dress from Temperley London. It's on my must have list and it's paining me not to buy it immediately.
